A Polish truck fell from a bridge in Slovakia

On Saturday 14th Novemeber a 55-year-old driver lost control of his truck on the ring road in Svidník, Slovakia. He ran across the entire width of the road, hit the barriers and fell from the bridge from a height of at least a dozen meters.

The red Iveco Stralis turned out to be owned by a Polish transport company, and a 55-year-old Ukrainian citizen was behind the wheel. In order to get to it, the emergency services had to cut open the wreckage of the cabin. It turned out however it was too late to save the driver and that he died at the scene.

It took about 12 hours to remove the truck of the road. The semi-trailer was also unloaded and several hundred liters of diesel were pumped out of the tanks. The wreckage was handed over to the police for investigation. Unofficial information mentions a burst tire to be the cause.
