Truck driver quarantined after route to north of Italy

The first story of a truck driver quarantined in Italy due to a coronavirus epidemic comes from Italy. This was reported on Sunday, February 23. Coronavirus is currently a problem in the very north of Italy. Carabinieri topped the driver in Grottaminarda, which lies at the height of Naples.

The driver - a 45 year old Bulgarian living in Italy reported that he is transporting from the northern city of Lodi. This is the place where the Italian outbreak of the coronavirus began. Therefore local authorities were informed about the case.

The information was sent to the mayor of the nearby town of Carife, where the driver turned out to be residing. It was then decided that the man and his whole family would be quarantined and tested for the virus.

Everything seems to indicate that this particular incident was a "false alarm" and the 45-year-old was not infected. Nonetheless, it clearly shows what the impact of the epidemic can be on long-distance transport and the risks it brings.
