Storey truck parking lots along the motorways - a new German project

Germany is desperate when it comes to searching for trucks parking. To the extent that they want to build new parking slots on plots belonging to private individuals, as long as trucks will be able to get there.

Meanwhile, Abona Deutschland has presented its vision for solving this problem. It's a system called TruckTower, being simply a multi-storey car park for full-size sets. It is to handle vehicles up to 40 tons, of which the heaviest ones will go to the lower decks.

The creator of the whole idea turns out to be a former truck driver who is well aware of parking problems. To increase the availability of parking spaces, he decided to place trucks on several levels. A hotel is to appear at the back of the entire structure, with a thought of 45-hour rests.

If you wonder how the trucks will come off the upper decks when other vehicles are parked below, the film shows a way, in which the platforms move both vertically and sideways.

Does such an unusual vision have a chance to become reality? For now, all we know is that Abona Deutschland has patented its invention. The company is also exploring the possibility of conducting a practical test, although it does not provide any details as yet.
