He "turned off" the tachographs, so he was banned from operating all trucks in the company

Did the Dutch find an effective way to fight tachograph switches? It cannot be concealed that yesterday's decision of their prosecutor's office can be impressive. It is the decommissioning of all company trucks to make sure that each of them will be deprived of illegal equipment.

All of this concerns the transport company from Rotterdam, which has not passed the inspection twice. In both cases, it was found that the trucks were equipped with tachograph switches. What's more, suspicious software was also found in one of the company's laptops. It was probably used to manipulate tachographs, creating the so-called "shutdown" function.

In response to the above allegations, the prosecutor's office made a decision yesterday to introduce a temporary preventive measure. Accordingly, all company trucks will be banned. The carrier's operations will be completely suspended and the vehicles will undergo a thorough check in terms of tachograph control. It was also stipulated that if the carrier breaks the prosecutor's ban and continues transporting, he will be charged with committing a crime.

The Dutch media say that we are talking about a fleet of up to several dozen trucks. Months of parking such a number of machines could mean hundreds of thousands of euros in losses. How long will the traffic ban last and when can results be expected? Unfortunately, the prosecutor's office did not announce it.
